Bertelsmann’s Digital Campaign Reaches 240 Million Contacts

As part of its Tech & Data Scholarship initiative, Bertelsmann is once again awarding 50,000 scholarships over three years to interested individuals from all over the world and Group employees. They can acquire skills in emerging technologies such as data management and artificial intelligence, software development and data engineering, as well as cybersecurity.

Bertelsmann launched the “Am I AI-ready?” media campaign in October to draw attention to the scholarship initiative, and reached some 240 million contacts via TV commercials, print ads, online advertising, social media posts and a dedicated landing page – almost three times as many as the 2022 campaign. This brings the total number of contacts Bertelsmann has reached in its five digital campaigns to date to more than 441 million. Since the first digital campaign in 2019, around 227,000 applications from 190 countries have been received for the Tech & Data scholarships.

21,000 Medical Students Choose Afya

The Brazilian education provider Afya acquired 100 percent of Sociedade Educacional e Cultural Sergipe DelRey at the beginning of the year. DelRey includes Centro Universitário Tiradentes (UNIT) Alagoas and Faculdade Tiradentes (FITS) Jaboatão dos Guararapes, two medical universities in northeastern Brazil with a total of 340 medical seats. The acquisition increases Afya’s number of medical seats to 3,163 per year and currently around 21,000 medical students in total.

In the fall, Afya acquired another 15 percent of shares in Centro de Ciências em Saúde de Itajubá, an educational institution in the state of Minas Gerais, via its wholly owned subsidiary Afya Participações. The acquired Centro has 87 accredited medical seats and has since been 75 percent owned by Afya. Afya was also once again included in US business information service Bloomberg’s “Gender-Equality Index (GEI),” as well as being recognized as a “Great Place to Work (GPTW)” and by the Brazilian press as the “Most Innovative Education Company,” among other awards.

Alliant Opens New Campus for Nursing Degree Programs in Phoenix

In April, Alliant International University inaugurated its ninth campus: the “School of Nursing and Health Sciences” in Phoenix in the US state of Arizona. Here, students can earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Direct Entry Master in Nursing (DEMSN) degree. In addition, Alliant introduced a new online program, Master in Nursing Administration (Nurse Executive). The aim in each case is to combine science and practice; considerable growth is expected in the years ahead for all the professions taught there. The new programs are in line with Alliant’s efforts to make an important contribution to society by training competent professionals in highly sought-after and important professions, as is already the case in the fields of education and psychology.
